Executive Chef Honza Štěrba and his team accepted yet another prize “plate” at the awards ceremony held at the Mercedes-Benz showroom in Prague 4. Czech restaurants are rated each year as part of a nationwide survey in the food, service, and interior categories. Piano Nobile is also part of the winter Grand Restaurant Festival, which takes place from January 15 to February 28. This year’s theme is superfoods – those which have been scientifically proven to have beneficial effects on health and longevity. The “superfood” phenomenon is gaining importance worldwide. Nowadays people want to live more healthily, take care of themselves both physically and emotionally, and even experiment a little. The requirement was that at least one course contain one or more superfoods that are local, seasonal, and grown or raised with love.

Wild duck • Celery root • Apple • Chestnuts • Village sauce and Cedar chocolate • Buckthorn • Clementine marmalade
“Gastronauts” can once again make reservations for our Grand Restaurant Festival and Yum Package, which includes Honza Štěrba’s special festival three-course menu, plus accommodation and other services. The menu features an amuse bouche of shrimp bisque with cognac, an appetizer of beef tongue, celery root marmalade, and chestnut cream, and the main course of wild boar cheeks, herbed barley, marinated wild cranberries, and cocoa nib sauce, and for dessert chocolate, cedar, raspberry sauce, and rosemary.
